Abstract: Анотація: Наведені результати досліджень щодо розповсюдження, сезонно-вікової динаміки аскаридіозу голубів в умовах м. Харкова та передмістя. Аннотация: Представлены результаты исследований по распространению, сезонно-возрастной динамике аскаридиоза голубей в условиях г. Харькова и пригорода. Summary: Results of epizootic, clinical and parasitological, helminthological studies of pigeons in Kharkiv and its suburbs for the study of prevalence, seasonal and age-related dynamics of pigeons’ ascaridosis conducted during 2014-2015 are presented in the article. Laboratory research was carried out in condition of parasitological department of Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy. The purpose and objective of research was to clarify some questions of epizootology (distribution, seasonal and age-related dynamics) of ascaridiosis in pigeons in Kharkiv and its suburbs. Extensity and intensity of the invasion were determineted by сoproskopic method of laboratory diagnostic called Fyulleborns. Quantity of Ascaridia columbae eggs was counted under low magnification of microscope in 20 fields of view. Dead pigeons were subjected to postmortem autopsy. Incomplete autopsy of pigeons using method of K. I. Scriabin was carried out. Purpose of the study was to conduct helminthological research and to establish the type of agent by helmintoskopic metod. The species of Nematode called Ascaridia columbae was determined using qualifier of K. I. Scriabin. Morphological features of Ascaridia columbae (mouth, suction cups, papillae, spicules and so on) were compared with literature data. As a result of studies wide spreading of ascaridiosis of pigeons in Kharkiv (EI=21,3 %) and in its suburbs (EI=30,1 %) was established. Age-related dynamic of the disease was studied. It was indicated that young pigeons infected approximately in 2,5-3-month of age. It was established that eggs of Ascaridia columbae appear in fecal masses of young pigeons aged 3,5-4 months. High level of the invasion was registered among pigeons aged 7-9 months and was accompanied by increasing of EI to 32-50,0%. The invasions intensity of pigeons aged 7-9 months was 10-05-25 eggs of Ascaridia columbae in 20 fields of view of microscope. Pigeons aged 1 year and older had chronic condition of ascaridiosis with level of the invasion 5 %. Invasions intensity of pigeons 1 year of age was 1-2-3 eggs of Ascaridia columbae in 20 fields of view of microscope. Seasonal manifestation of ascaridiosis characterized by a gradual increase of extensity of the disease from spring and maximum growth to the end of the summer and to the beginning of autumn (from 20,0 % to 46,09 %). Level of ascaridiosis greatly reduced to winter (EI=4,6 %).
